How To Add A Logo To The Twenty Fifteen Theme

How to add logo to Twenty Fifteen themeThe WordPress Twenty Fifteen theme is the newest WP default theme, starting with WordPress version 4.1. It’s a really nice theme– it makes it easy to make customizations right inside the dashboard, allowing you to choose color schemes, add background images, and more, but there is no way to add a logo without doing some coding. Well, unless you want to do it the easy way that is. 🙂

I’ve made it REALLY easy as a matter of  fact. If you can click a couple buttons, then you can have your beautiful logo on your awesome Twenty Fifteen blog or website.

Just watch the video below for the details (or you can follow the steps below the video).

Free Done-for-You Child Theme

First thing you will need to add your logo to your 2015 site is a child theme with the proper code in the header.php file.

That’s taken care of for you in the child theme below. It’s in a zip file, so just click on the link and download it to your computer in a handy location.

Then,go to your WP-admin dashboard and go to Appearance–>Themes and click on “Add New”, then “Upload Theme” and browse to the child theme zip file and install it. Then you’ll need to activate the “Twenty Fifteen Child” theme.

Next step, go Plugins–>Add New and search for Theme Logo. Install and activate that plugin. Now you’ll have a “Theme Logo” option under Appearance. Click to get to that screen and paste in the url of your logo in the “Logo Location” box.

To upload your very cool logo (I am assuming it’s cool 🙂 ) go to Media–>Add New. You can find the url by clicking on the logo image in your Media library–it will be on the left of the edit screen.

Have fun with your new Twenty Fifteen site, and if you’d like to watch me make a very cool site using that theme, go this blog post.
